Client Compliments

The Post-Secondary Counsellors Association (PSCA) invited Lynda for a one-day “Compassionate Self-Care for Professional Carers” workshop and many counsellors from institutes across BC attended. It was a wonderful opportunity to engage in a mixture of relevant and meaningful activities with other clinicians and had a good balance of content and experiential activities. Lynda has a warm, inspiring, and wise presence and is highly articulate and knowledgeable about self-care. Many of us went away wanting more, and commented that they wished the workshop was longer than one day. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone, as Lynda says, “self-care is an ethical imperative.”The wisdom and experience that Lynda has, provides a full and rich day that most definitely attends to our wellbeing in mind, body, heart and spirit.

Lynda delivered an informative and highly engaging workshop on mitigating the risks of compassion fatigue with whole person self-care to our team of teachers, program support, childcare staff and volunteer tutors at Archway Community Services during our annual Wellness Day event. Lynda’s down-to-earth manner and warm empathy quickly created the perfect atmosphere for reflection, peer interaction and sharing. Her professionalism, humour and candor were greatly appreciated, and most participants ranked the workshop “very good” to “excellent”. Some participant comments included: “just what I needed to hear and experience today!”; “it brought a renewed awareness of what we need in terms of self-awareness and self-care strategies”; “loved the PowerPoint and laughing together”; “I enjoyed Lynda’s energy”. We would certainly consider hiring Lynda again and would not hesitate to recommend her to others.”

Lynda spoke about burnout prevention and personal resiliency to our group of teachers and district staff at a recent pro-d day. It was a great pleasure to have Lynda set a unifying and uplifting tone as our keynote speaker. She has a natural way of engaging meaningfully with her audience. Lynda sprinkled lightness into some serious topics with tactful humour and engaging personal narratives. Her presentation was incredibly informative, entertaining, and has already helped my colleagues and I start to rethink our priorities around self care and burnout prevention.”

“Lynda’s workshop on burnout prevention and resiliency for social workers was a very relevant day for our staff. She was able to keep everyone engaged with thoughtful exercises and interactive discussion, which made the material come alive. The piece that really resonates for us is Lynda’s depth of clinical experience and examples from her work that echoes our experiences. Thank you Lynda for sharing your knowledge and experience with our team!”

It was evident from the outset of working with Lynda that she’s deeply passionate about her work, speaks from experience, and embodies what she teaches. The resiliency training she tailored for interdisciplinary healthcare staff was well rounded with information and resources, narrative examples, experiential exercises and relationship building. She was attentive to details and our particular training needs in the planning and follow-up, readily available, and invited feedback. Participants were very appreciative. I’d be glad to work with Lynda again.”

“Lynda is a passionate and engaged speaker and her workshop was very well-received by our participants. Our conference attracts a specific segment of family service professionals (those working with pregnant and parenting youth), and I very much appreciated Lynda’s openness to targeting her workshop directly towards the work they do. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, with participants commenting on Lynda’s dynamic presentation skills, the quality of the resources, and the usefulness of the skills and strategies discussed.”

“We had the pleasure of Lynda’s inspirational participation in our bi-annual Health and Safety Advocates’ Conference. The theme was “Building A Culture of Safety”. Lynda actively involved us in the preparation of her keynote, to ensure our needs were addressed and that she could tailor comments, and literature references to our demographic. She also worked as a leader in our small breakout sessions and related well with our members, who come from varied geographical areas and varied technologies. We would use Lynda’s services again in any similar endeavor.”

“All in all, I have been able to make some very large changes in my life, which I know would not have been possible without your help. I really liked the experience of the coaching itself, but even more than that, it has been very effective in helping me towards defining and reaching my goals – so thank you again for all that you have done.”

“In 2000, Lynda Monk came to my office and we talked on bringing her in on a trial basis to offer training courses related to how stress affected not only fire fighters but their families. Having sat through these presentations before and at first going in with a pre-conceived notion that it wouldn’t be of any use to me, I knew that it might be a hard sell to the fire fighters. That first session we had 25 fire fighters present. Three hours later, they were all sold on her approach to the issue and looked forward to her next sessions. We now run at least one session per year with Lynda and they are one of the highest attended training courses. Lynda is very approachable, likeable and down-to-earth. She can communicate readily at any level, thus my fire fighters really appreciate her sessions.”

“My last coaching session with Lynda was so impactful, after the session I implemented new thinking tools into my business and lifestyle. I am currently switching my subconscious thinking so I can get rid of blocks moving forward, she nailed it while helping me figure out my blocks. Every time I have a session with Lynda, my path and goals change drastically for the better, almost immediately changing the way I look at my life patterns. When discussing what I want to accomplish in the near future, Lynda continues to spark new innovative ways of tackling the dream!
